Milwaukee, WI - This new creation from Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) takes one of the most remarkable motorcycles in the Harley-Davidson line and pushes it over the edge, with asphalt-shaking power, blinding chrome, extreme color-matching and custom innovation. The result is a Bobtail beauty that cuts an unmistakable profile.
The Harley-Davidson CVO program creates limited-production, exclusive motorcycles produced by a team of highly skilled technicians in a special assembly area at the Harley-Davidson plants in York, Pa., and Kansas City. Approximately 2,500 examples of the 2007 Screamin’ Eagle Softail Springer will be assembled at the York Vehicle Operations facility. The suggested U.S. retail price for the 2007 Screamin’ Eagle Softail Springer is $24,995 (25,095 in California).
It all starts between the wheels. The Screamin’ Eagle Softail Springer is powered by the largest-displacement production engine ever offered by Harley-Davidson, the 110-cid (1800cc) Twin Cam 110B, a high-performance V-Twin engine that delivers 105 ft. lbs. of torque at 3000 rpm. The engine is rigid-mounted in the Softail frame and equipped with internal counter-balance shafts that eliminate 90 percent of primary engine vibration. Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) is standard on the Twin Cam 110B. Chrome shotgun exhaust exits through slash-down mufflers. The engine is mated to a new 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission for lower cruising rpm in top gear. The powertrain is finished in silver powder-coat with chrome covers.
The distinctive Springer front end is executed with painted rigid forks, color-matched to the paint scheme on the bodywork, with chromed spring fork suspension components. The forks hold a 21-inch Revolver Chrome, 10-spoke Forged Aluminum wheel. A 1.25-inch diameter handlebar is secured with new smooth clamps, and tucked between the clamps is a mini-tachometer with a new smooth bezel. The Screamin’ Eagle Softail Springer launches a new Centerline accessory collection that includes grips, pegs and brake and shifter pedals.
The smooth contours of a new console flow with the shape of the handlebar clamps and the tach. Ribs molded into the console continue along the length of the two-up leather seat. The seat carries the eye over a classic Bobtail fender that covers a fat, 200mm rear tire on a 17-inch Revolver Chrome, 10-spoke Forged Aluminum wheel. The fender also holds a new Tri-Bar LED tail lamp, which is tightly packaged to give the back end a modern, custom look.
The Screamin’ Eagle Softail Springer will be offered in three exclusive color combinations: Canyon Copper and Candy Red, Abyss Blue and Blue Pearl, and Amarillo Gold and Candy Tangerine. Frame and swing arm paint color is coordinated with each paint pattern. A Harley-Davidson Smart Security System with Smart Siren, an indoor storage cover with CVO logo, and a commemorative CVO key in a presentation box are also included.
